Hi Roadies! It's Julia back with a couple of fun and floral cards that feature layers and die-cutting. I don't know about you but I've had more than enough of winter and am dreaming of warmer weather and sunny days!
For both of these designs I've mixed up bold colors and prints with dies to create fun and whimsical flowers and then layered on lots of beautiful Maya Road embellishments.
My first card is a get well soon design. Is it just me or has everyone been sick this winter. It's been kind of crazy and this little bundle of paper layers will be going out in the mail to make someone's day. The flowers on this design have been die-cut with the gorgeous Flower Die Set. Do you remember the Kraft layered flowers from Maya Road? This die will get you the exact same wonderful look except that you can make them from any paper or pattern you want! So fun! This set has two circular flower layers with die cut petals that you can layer together or use separately.
After die-cutting the flowers and gluing them together I've filled the centers with fun Maya Road embellishments such as Crystal Circle Buttons, Wood Slices and Gingham Buttons. There's a lovely leaf die in the set but I love the Medium Paper Leaves Vintage Findings so much that I couldn't resist tucking them into the design.
I also just wanted to tell you about how this card was put together. It's actually a 4.25" square card design with an overhanging layer at the top. This means you can go off the "page" and still have the design fit into an A5 size envelope. This pink striped layer is backed with white card stock for extra stability and then adhered to the card front with dimensional foam tape.
As I just can't seem to put the Flowers Die Set away, it's also worked it's way into a birthday card for my daughter.
This card is a top folding 4.25" x 5.5" card and then layered with beautiful prints and a Maya Road Ledger Transparency.
There's a lot of beautiful layers within the chipboard oval frame. I've also die-cut some foliage in white card stock using the Tropical Flowers Die Set and then clustered some other items into the flower center as well. If you look closely you'll find Crystal Heart Buttons, Follow Your Heart Arrow Clips, and beautiful White Paper Flowers in both Small and Medium sizes.
A couple final touches accent the top and bottom of the oval on this design... a touch of gold with the Gold Bulldog Clip and some vintage Maya Road Bingo Numbers.
Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope these card spark your creativity with florals and die cuts!
